Any land use including sheds, fences, patios, pools, decks, addition, single family dwellings etc. require a zoning application (Application for Zoning Permit). An application fee of $30 made payable to Delaware Township must accompany the application.

Construction Referral Application
Any property with a well and/or septic that requires zoning, also requires a Construction Referral approval from the Hunterdon County Health Department (908) 788-1351

Hunterdon County Soil Approval
Any new single family dwelling, or any addition or structure disturbing more than an acre requires approval from Hunterdon County Soil. (908) 788-9466.

D & R Canal
Construction projects in Zone A (within 1,000 feet of the D&R Canal) and in Zone B (depending on the nature and size of the project) require approval from the D&R Canal Commission (609) 397-2000. CLICK HERE for a map which provides the location of Zone A (blue) and Zone B (green).

Driveway Permit
A new driveway requires a permit from the Delaware Township Road Department for entrance from township roads (609) 397-3530 or the Hunterdon County Road Department for entrance from county roads (908) 788-1178.
